Academics

Our first ‘A’ level students entered the school in 2012 and two years later performed extremely well in their final ‘A’ level examinations. The 2015 graduates did even better placing WATU Secondary School sixth in all of Tanzania in the small school category, a remarkable achievement. Similar outstanding results have been obtained in ‘O’ level and at Form 2 level.

There is an excellent teacher/pupil ratio of no more than 30 per class, and often smaller.

Mr. Josiah Mchome writes the Form IV results were not as good as usual. The teachers worked extremely hard with the students and they thought the results were good, considering the general academic level of this class. Some of the students had arrived from other schools and had not gone through the WATU Secondary programme. “It required extra effort to make them cope with our standards.”
